i read the globe and mail online everyday that i am at work. sometimes, i read the comments section, but rarely do i feel compelled to add to the bickering and arguing that goes on in there. today was one of those rare days that i felt i had to say something. if there is anything that gets my back up, it is people writing off the un or any government as being wholly fantastic or awful.
if you are interested in what i had to say, take a look at the comments on this article.

I feel your pain. I am having an awful time today staying out of the local papers' comment boards as they all have discussions on the death penalty abolition bill that is being debated in the state Senate today. I have to, have to, have to stay out of it because many of the comments relate to my actual clients, but man, it gets me all riled up. We all have our topics that we just can't let go.
Your response was good, reasonable, and obviously based on actual knowledge.
Lu, don't sweat it. The bloviating gets to be a bit much so, sometimes, you've just got to try to bring reality and logic into the discussion.
