Did you stay at the Savoy?! Everything on the list looks great and like so much fun, but seriously, I will be so jealous if you guys stayed there.

haha, no we did not, just walked by. we stayed at the crestfield hotel, where we had the 'penthouse' which was on the top floor which meant that hot water was rather sporatic and the walls were so thin we could hear the man in the next room clear his throat. but the hotel had a cute scotty dog and nice staff and it was in a great location. but i should have checked the price for a room in the savoy for a night, what do you think it would be??

I need to have some fun like that! Maybe when we have visitors we'll have an excuse to "paint the town red" as they like to say. Though with the liberals gone, perhaps we'll be painting the town blue, or even orange.

As for the Savoy (which is now a Fairmont hotel):

Moderate 1 Single Bed NS
HSIA,215sq ft, small rm, good value, slg occp
bath with rain forest shower
169GBP/night

Deluxe King NS
285 sq ft, High speed internet access large rooms with desk, marble bath, with rain shower, sofa, renovated
229GBP/night

Deluxe River View One Bedroom Suite King NS
646 sq ft, river view, separate bedroom, desk bath with rain shower, traditional decor, HSIA
999GBP/night

you know i just might splurge on that sometime. i didn't get to go into the tate modern gallery and the gallery IS free so maybe that would offset the cost of the hotel.

how is that for rationalisation?!

su, maybe we could spend a night there.

strictly for research purposes, you know. your degree IS in hotel and resort management. i think we could file it under "educational expenses"

k & h, want to join us?

Yes, I can only imagine that it would enhance my education. I did spend an entire semester studying the Fairmonts annual report. I would know the ins and outs....maybe that would help us get a discount! But yes, strictly research.
